What does “MOH” mean at an American wedding?
MOH stands for Maid of Honor, the bride’s top-ranked attendant at an American wedding. She walks down the aisle just before the bride, holds the bouquet during the vows, gives a toast at the reception, and helps plan the bridal shower and bachelorette party. The closest British or Commonwealth equivalent is “chief bridesmaid,” but American weddings split the role formally and shorten the title to three letters in texts, planning sites, and event programs. If the MOH is married, she’s sometimes called Matron of Honor instead.
