What does “turbo” mean in Polish slang?
Polish speakers under thirty have turned turbo into an all-purpose intensifier. Where a textbook says bardzo miły (“very nice”), the internet says turbo miły. It behaves like an adverb and sits in front of any adjective: turbo fajny (“super cool”), turbo drogi (“mega expensive”), turbo zmęczony (“dead tired”). In the clip the owner tells viewers to be turbo mili w komentarzach — “super nice in the comments” — because her dog is shy.
It belongs to a family of borrowed boosters — mega, ultra, hiper — that Polish uses in casual speech and never in formal writing; the neutral options remain bardzo and naprawdę. The clip is also a mini-lesson in trick commands: siad (“sit”), łapka (“paw”), leżeć (“down”), zostaw (“leave it”), spokój (“calm”), and the repeated piszcie komentarze — “write comments” — the creator’s running joke every time Arizona hesitates.
