What does “eifersüchtig” mean in German?
When Ute mentions that Christian wants to meet her at the station, she turns to her friend and asks straight out: “bist du eifersüchtig auf mich?” — are you jealous of me? It’s a direct, slightly teasing question about feelings. Brigitte says no, she isn’t, even though she and Christian get along fine. So “eifersüchtig” is what you feel when you worry someone you like is interested in another person.
