What does “puștan” mean in Romanian?
A puștan is a kid or young lad, but with attitude baked in: it leans toward “young punk” or “whippersnapper” — a youngster who acts more grown-up than his years. It’s the augmentative of puști (“kid”), and that bigger ending adds the teasing, mildly dismissive shrug.
