What does 一次性 (yīcìxìng) mean in Chinese?
一次性 (yīcìxìng) breaks down as 一次 (yī cì) “one time” + 性 (xìng) a suffix meaning “quality or nature of.” Together: “of a one-time-use nature.” Stick it in front of almost any object and it becomes disposable: 一次性筷子 (disposable chopsticks), 一次性杯子 (paper cup), 一次性手套 (disposable gloves). Learning the modifier means instantly knowing dozens of compound words.
